tardisity: The oldest person alive was born on April 19, 1897, meaning that April 18th, 1897 was approximately the last time the Earth was inhabited by an entirely different set of people and if you don’t think that’s the realist shit ever then you can get right on outta town.

Burka question
I’m watching a documentary about Afghanistan and a lot of ladies are wearing burkas. There was a bombing.  I’m assuming there are no female doctors, and the burka-ladies can’t be seen by another man except their husband, right? How do they do that if they have to go to the hospital? Is there an exception for doctors? does anyone know? This is probably a really naive question...

Commercials
Commercials are interesting. There’s a lot of priming research relevant which is the topic I want to do my PhD on :) I have read lots of research on commercials and why they (should) work, I could make a video on it? (don’t expect it too soon though, I’m busy writing my masterthesis now. (Which, if you like psychology, is also very interesting, I talk about it here))

partybarackisinthehousetonight: my life changed forever when i found out the word “slang” was actually slang for “shortened language” according to wikipedia though: Etymology The origin of the word slang is uncertain. It has a connection with Thieves’ cant, and the earliest attested use (1756) refers to the vocabulary of “low or disreputable” people. Beyond that, however,...
