The oldest person alive was born on April 19, 1897, meaning that April 18th, 1897 was approximately the last time the Earth was inhabited by an entirely different set of people and if you don’t think that’s the realist shit ever then you can get right on outta town.

No, you don’t understand.
This actually happens.
We got a 16 year old boy on our unit once, because Pediatrics was full, and it’s about 1 in the morning and all the nurses are at the nurses station having a break and we’re all talking and having a laugh and then all of a sudden this kids heart monitor just goes CRAZY.
So we call the code and I grab the crash cart and about 6 of us just take off running down the hall and we bust in the room and this kid is just sitting there with his hand around his junk looking MORTIFIED.
So we just sort of backed out of the room quietly, walked calmly to the stairwell, and had a total and complete hysterical breakdown.
It was the funniest shit ever.
Omigod so many nurses have told me stories like these.

Lisette and I went to ikea to buy large pieces of wood to make a desk out of. When we were trying to get the three 135x80cm boards onto my bike, an man (Jo) asked if he could help so we said yes and then he said he could also put the boards on his bike and bring them. So then he brought the boards to my house.
EU considers withdrawal of 1 and 2 euro cent coins -
The European Commission has tabled several scenarios for the withdrawal of the 1 and 2 euro cent coins, with the cost of printing these coins greater than their use.
“people seem attached to these coins” REALLY? sentiment? we’ve only had them for a little over 10 years. Everyone* can still remember changing their old currency for euros. Most people kept some coins and bills from the old currency and moved on. There are very few people still whining about wanting their old currency back. Are people really ‘attached’ to the 1 and 2 cent coin? they’re worthless and you probably haven’t even used them in years.
*if they did a poll, <10-year-olds were likely not included.
